In the context of X-rays, apertures are holes which allow light to pass through while efficiently blocking stray light in the form of diffracted or scattered light. High blocking power is achieved via tall gold heights. The precise shape of the apertures (square, round, star-shaped, slitted…) is crucial to their optimal performance.

Standard Apertures

Gold thickness per aperture size according to the table below. Parts come mounted to a holder. Slits are 10 mm long in 50 µm sections separated by
2 µm gaps. Slit arrays and crosses are available upon request.
